Celebrating Oreo's 100 years today with a new flavor: Oreo Brigadeiro. Vanilla brigadeiro with Oreo crumbs. It's our way to pay respect to the most loved American cookie!

Hey sweeties! We came back in small steps past week so we had some time to warm up and organize 2012 before the orders swallow us. Which in this case we'll be happy and delighted.

During the break we kept working a little wherever we where. My assistant here and I in Brazil. Spending sometime with my family and being part of my nephew's (and godson's) little life. Lourenço turned one while I was there and grandma (my super party enthusiastic mom) hosted the celebration at her house.

All the decor was planned and executed by my two talented sisters-in-law. Carolina, Lourenço's mom, has an unique and playfull sense of style and Flavia is a very crafty DIY lady. Their idea was to bring his navy themed bedroom to the party.

Sailing boats, lanterns and lifesavers houses from his bedroom were combined with blue and red striped fabric to create this cool and boy like maritime scene. I loved how savvy and intimate the idea is.

Auntie Mari (me!) spoiled everyone with some sweets. Honey brigadeiros with sliced almonds were a big hit. Guests took also some brigadeiros home in this handmade favor boxes covered in fabric.

It was a bunch of work but best of all, Lourenço enjoyed his first birthday party like a gentleman. And godmother couldn't help sharing my boy's charming figure and, yeeeep! predilection for sweets. LOL... he'll surely make me proud!

And by the way, am I the only person thinking that my sister's-in-law should launch a party business? Ok. I'll be their agent.

The phone is ringing. I gotta go. Kitchen here we come again!

After a year of hard work and tons of treats we are proud to part of so many celebrations along 2011.
We are taking a break and will be back in 2012.

We wish all our clients and friends a happy holiday season and see you all next year.

There's a very powerful tradition in northern Brazil known as something close to Bomfim's ribbon bracelet. It's basically a ribbon that was sanctified and blessed by this Bahian Saint named Senhor do Bomfim. You must tie it around your wrist making three knots and for each you can make a wish. You should never remove or cut it. But once it breaks the three wishes will come true. I myself used twice and as far as I can remember some of the things I asked actually happened. Was it Bonfim's power? I have know idea, but as they say "Chances favors the prepared mind" and a prepared mind can mean believing and surrounding yourself with positive things no matter how silly they might sound. 

I'm just telling this whole story so you can understand better the reason we loved working in this last week project, Bem Casados tied with Bomfim's ribbon braceletes. Besides being a chaming way of bring some Brazilian accent to the celebration it's a great way to spread great energies and some tradition to the newlyweds and their guests.

We fell in love with this natural jungle table. The idea behind it is so simple that makes it adorable. Use your blooming plants and some animal toys on a naked dining table.

There's no more exciting felling than seeing NYC getting ready for the holidays. You step in to any coffee shop and all you can breath is cinammon, peppermint, chocolate, nutmeg, orange zest, cloves. So much warm that makes me smile. And inspires to work creating our specials for the last and sweetest months of the year. And yes, we're back!!!
